I have an active requisition that is currently posted to SES. May I edit the job req even though it is posted?
Dean Messinger
43:17
If our job req for coming year is open and posted already, when can we start hiring returning student workers?
Astra Yatroussis
44:08
@mjackson yes, you may. On approval of the changes, SES will take down the old posting and create a new one to reflect the updated requisition.
Astra Yatroussis
44:47
@Dean Messinger Fall hiring opened on 8/1, so you may submit hires now! Please note that Fall hires can be effective no earlier than 8/28.
Dean Messinger
45:06
Thank you Astra!

under "My team Management"/Recent Activity, There is a line indicating that one of my hires needs to "enter contact information".. What is the next step and who needs to perform it? thanks.
mjackson

Yes, thank you

I'd like to use job requisition from last year. How do I update the pay rate?
Astra Yatroussis
46:26
@Bryan Cahill That is an onboarding tasks assigned to the student. It is also a part of the Form I-9 process and should be done ASAP.
Astra Yatroussis
47:48
@Tatiana Kuzmenko On the "Compensation" page of the job req edit, clear out and re-enter the details under "Guidelines"
Nina DuBose
50:44
I'm looking at the student profile and under actions I don't see "Hire", is that because the student already has another job?
Tatiana Kuzmenko
50:50
@Astra Did that but it still shows 15 under Hourly -> Amount as well as under Assignment details.
Astra Yatroussis
52:40
@Tatiana Please email us at ses@lmu.edu with the Requisition number and we'll follow up asap
Brianne Zapata (she/her)

I saw something similar to Tatiana yesterday while hiring... it said $15/hr at the top but then when I got to the part where I chose Step under compensation, I was able to choose 16.04, I'm not sure why it showed 15.00 still at the top of the requisition though
Joshua Morgan
54:30
@Tatiana. I had the same problem copying from a Job Req from last year. The fix is to reset the "Step" in the previous "Compensation > Guidelines" section (remove the existing Step rate and re-add it) and that will correct the Hourly rate to the actual minimum of $16.04
Joshua Morgan
56:09
the Step will show $16.04 before you reset it, but it won't actually reset unless you remove the step and re-add it
Astra Yatroussis
56:16
@Brianne the rate won't update in the top section, that's normal. As long as it says the correct rate under "Guidelines" and "Assignment Details" that's fine
Tatiana Kuzmenko
57:37
Thanks Joshua!

Are than any workshops or trainings that LMU hosts for student workers that we can suggest they go to? not necessarily for our specific role, but generalized employment trainings, professionalism, etc?
Astra Yatroussis
01:15:33
@Dean Messinger Student Workshops are currently in development, release date pending.
Bryan Cahill

Is there a timesheet submission schedule for Work Study students?
Dean Messinger
01:18:39
That I can post on the wall or something as a reminder
mjackson
01:18:50
if a student doesn't work during a particular pay period, should that student still review and submit zero hours.
Astra Yatroussis
01:19:44
@Dean Messinger we recommend using the Payroll calendar (students use the red dates) https://lmu.app.box.com/s/trzmw6fic5zyhmfbutspzbyfmkexl27u
Dean Messinger
01:20:39
Thank you
Dean Messinger
01:21:44
Are there instructions on how to add the "remaining" column?
Astra Yatroussis
01:23:27
@Dean Messinger we have requested that a "Remaining" column be included in the report by default and are awaiting news back from HR/ITS. At present we cannot say when that may become available.
Dean Messinger
01:24:15
I remember in a previous meeting it was mentioned there was a best day to pull the report to include most recent pay period
mjackson
01:24:21
Thank you for increasing the size of the Powerpoint slides. It has been easy to follow along today.
