Fieldwork and student teaching—how will students meet all the hours?
carylhodges
44:17
Given the new Literacy TPEs adopted in November by the Commission - how are you incorporating those into your transition plan since we need to document how we are incorporating those by Fall 2020. Caryl

44:36
What sort of alternative forms of evidence (observations, jhours
Liza Mastrippolito
44:37
Hello! This is Liza Mastrippolito from LMU. I’m wondering about clinical hours. CTC has said they will forgive 100 hours, but is this only for the 600 hours, or in the “old” programs that aren’t required to do 600 hours yet?
Linda Haymes
44:38
This is Linda Haymes from Touro. I was wondering about clinical experience in General Education for those working in NPS for students with Extensive Supports.

To incorporate the materiall, for OHI, OI, etc into MMSN credentia thats not in the MM credential, are you adding new courses or infusing into MM methods courses

Karen Webster
44:57
We were notified that the ESCP was going to use prior standards for SpEd credential candidates, which would indicate no specific hour requirements for fieldwork. Is that accurate?
jlgunderson
45:16
Jamie Gunderson, California State University, Chico, Education Specialist Program Coordinator
David Warmbier
45:20
My students want to know if the required hours for field supervision as well as on-site mentors will be reduced.
Karen Webster
45:57
Additionally, what about those who are concurrent? Will there be 150 hours in addition to the 600?
Jacquelyn
46:08
Thanks for the resource, Kevin!
Amber Bechard
46:11
I have a question about Key Assessments. Because our revised program will integrate heavily with our Gen Ed courses and those Key Assessments, how do the sped specific Key Assessments look? Are there twice as many? Do the Gen Ed Key Assessments work for special ed, or at least for the Universal TPEs?
carylhodges
46:17
AICCU Deans had an hour discussion wiht CTC yesterday and got lost of feedback about clinical practice and what we could do - they also directed us to a green banner on the CTC website with up-to-date information on what to do. Caryl
David Warmbier
46:18
Also, many students are unable to take the RICA right now, but need to do so to finish their credential. Will testing guidelines be changed?
charynsocketberg
48:02
What changes will be in place for the Special Ed Student teachers?
nathanswett
48:14
I have question about what training of fieldwork and clinical practice around EdTech and AT is being planned or focused on.
Brad Damon
48:36
We should be able too strengthen our intern MOU language requiring schools to release interns for their 200 hours of early field experience.
jlgunderson
48:57
What decisions if any have been made regarding TPA? Many students have not yet completed filming.
Conni Campbell
52:09
Can you share a few ideas they had about clinical practice and fieldwork?
Linda Smetana
52:30
I am also concerned about how candidates will acquire the 148+ hours required for intern support.
Virginia Kennedy
53:53
One of CTC’s presentations this afternoon is on Literacy
Brad Damon
54:45
Linda, Support hours are only required while in the classroom. The support hours can be prorated
Karen Webster
55:58
Stan State has already revised courses with the new TPEs
Amber Bechard
56:12
We are developing entirely new courses at La Verne and using the gen ed courses from their recent revisions to address the Universal TPEs.
Anne Spillane
57:21
Brandman is also creating new courses to meet the new standards - ending some current courses, and moving some of that content into the new courses. We’ll be keeping some of our current courses as well, and updating them.
Elizabeth Jara
01:00:45
How are programs not offering dual credentials incorporating common trunk?
Amber Bechard
01:00:51
We also in accreditation review and we had to not even mention our revisions.
Leila
01:00:52
Cal State LA is in the same position with accreditation
Doreen Ferko
01:01:56
We are in the same situation. Our accreditation review begins this Sun. As soon as our review is done we will start moving forward to address the new standards.
YVONNE BUI
01:03:47
Maybe all the Violet Cohort institutions can brain storm together?
David Warmbier
01:05:05
What about testing guidelines such as RICA and CalTPA. With testing dates canceled and postponed, how will we handle the requirements?
Amber Bechard
01:05:57
I want to make sure that everyone knows the Plan to Transition form has changed. Be sure to use the revised form from October 2019, not the original form issued.
Tamara Andersen
01:07:01
is anyone going to use the edTPA for sped?
EunMi Cho
01:07:06
Will we have a module for special ed. mentor teachers (10 hours requirement) by CTC?
EunMi Cho
01:07:11
Online version?
Kimy Liu
01:08:01
The 3/12/2020 letter addressed the clinical experience for MSCP and SSCP, but there is no specific guidelines for ESCP. Did I overlook anything?
Doreen Ferko
01:08:21
We use the EdTPA for Gen. Ed. And are hoping to use it for SPEd.
EunMi Cho
01:09:08
Any specific topics for special ed.?
Linda Haymes
01:10:51
I heard from Sarah from SPED at CTC and she said only CAL TPA not EdTPA for SPED
Amber Bechard
01:13:12
Regarding Virginia's question on number of clinical hours for dual credential, CTC has said they highly recommend 150 more than the 600 required for a single credential. As for the variety, they are saying that is up to programs. The trick is getting those interns released form their positions to have the variety of experiences.

Kimy Liu
01:16:44
regarding Amber’s comments on hours for dual credentials. We need to secure the support from the districts to allow for Interns who are seeking due credentials to get released to get variety of experience.
